Education in our Community

Schools in Shasta County are one of the highest priorities within the Greater Redding area.  The city is served by 46 public elementary schools, six middle schools, 30 charter or private schools, eight high schools, four continuation high schools, and eight college and trade schools.

Students consistently score above average in SAT exams and many of our schools ranked among the top 10 percent in the state Academic Performance Index (API).
